Judy Palnick earned a decade of credits as a studio and production company executive before launching her indie production firm. In 2006, she expanded her reach to include international talent management for writers, directors and composers from Canada, as well as the U.S. She also works with companies on marketing their work in the US. Recent projects have been showcasing the 3D work of the National Film Board of Canada.

Writers she works with are all Canadians living in Los Angeles who provide development and production notes for producers, distributors and funding agencies; David Hoselton and Lorne Cameron ( “House” and “Over the Hedge”) Ben Sokowski ( “Fear Itself”), Jeff Poloquin (“Borat” “The Shy Guy”) and Douglas Steinberg (“Psych” and “Boston Public”). Consultant clients include Cirque du Soleil for Grammy nominated composer Rene Dupere (“KA” and seven other Cirque du Soleil scores), and Elise Velle, singer and composer of invented languages.

Lifetime Television aired “Proof of Lies” in ’06, which she Executive Produced, along with Sunta Izzicupo and Michael Prupas and Rene Balcer. Palnick, Executive Produced, the 1998 telefilm “Murder in My Mind,” a success for CBS, starring Nicolette Sheridan, Stacy Keach, and Peter Coyote.

Palnick’s political interests and entertainment experience merged in 1992 when she had the opportunity to produce a highly acclaimed national music video for the Democratic National Committee aimed at reaching young urban voters. Bill Moyers devoted an entire episode of his series “Listening to America” on the project. At the Clinton Inauguration, she added musical productions to her resume, producing the talent portion for the DC/New York Ball. Before venturing out on her own, Palnick earned her stripes as a development exec for Aaron Spelling, Weintraub Entertainment, and MGM.

At Weintraub Entertainment as Vice President of TV Programming and Development her credits included “The Karen Carpenter Story,” “Donato and Daughter,” and “Carolina Skeletons.” She continued her successful producing relationship with Barney Rosensweig and Andrew Susskind after their departure from Weintraub working on the series “The Trials of Rosie O’Neal”.

Palnick served as Vice President of Programming and Development at MGM for six years, heading up Series Development, Movie and Miniseries Development, and Current Programming During her tenure at MGM, the company’s production output was the highest in its history, with the successful run of series such as “In the Heat of the Night,” “Dirty Dozen,” “Young Riders,” “Dreamstreet,” “Lady Blue,” and more than 10 telefilms, including the award-winning Herskovitz/Zwick film “Extreme Close-Up,” “George Washington,” “Best Intentions,” “Hot Paint,” “Red River,” “If It’s Tuesday This Must be Belgium,” “ Dirty Dozen,” “ My Father My Son,” and “King of Love.” . She was the executive for the multiple Emmy award winning programs “Thirtysomething”, and “Inherit the Wind”.
