Very funny.
Factory farming. At the supermarket the choices we make can have an enormous impact on the lives of millions of animals.
As we have managed to gradually take away the freedoms of the individuals that make up our ‘livestock’ and place them in continually more hideous living conditions, so the general population have become almost mass brainwashed to accept that these individual animals, destined to become our food, don’t need or deserve compassion.
Guilt or indifference?
These animals are making the ultimate sacrifice. They are dying so that we can eat them. This gives us a direct and very intimate relationship with the individual animal. We are actually going to digest it!
Why then are we not more concerned about it’s welfare? Is it guilt? Is that we don’t want to associate a living breathing animal with what’s on our dinner plate? Is disassociation a coping mechanism?
Or is it that we just don’t care?
We are heartbroken to learn that in China dogs and cats are skinned alive so that we can have fur trimmings on our raincoats, however the reality of the lives of the individual cow, chicken or sheep, that make up the millions and millions of animals that suffer stress and fear and pain just as any others do, seems not to matter to us.
Are we only going to question factory farming when something like the Swine Flu comes along, something that could affect us?
You gotta add the eye squinting. .... That's what makes her so Peculiar and Frightening.
The Swine Flu is a Statist made Crisis. The regular Flu kills worse than this.Look for Obama to start talking Swine Flu in the fall,if his numbers fall.I cant believe America has grown so big with citizens so easily fooled by a Community Organizer. This is a SAD time for our country
Wher the heck were you the last eight years. Looking for WMD?
I can't believe America survived after so many citizens were (twice) so easily fooled by a silver-spoon Texan who pulled every string to evade the military and then started a war under a false pretense ... who put on a uniform and declared the war all but over when it was just beginning ... I could go on and on and on and on and on, but you get the point.
Ignoring most of the silliness of your statement. I'd like to inform you that most experts have asserted that if this flu mutates into something dangerous, it will be an issue NEXT flu season not this one. If Obama starts talking it up next fall, it may very well be because it is following the projected worse case scenario.
Your antipathy for Obama, a one time community organizer who is now the President of the United States, has clouded your thinking.
Well, I guess you'd better ignore any Swine Flu talk you hear in the Fall. If you get sick with a fever, aches, pains, fever, cough, maybe stomach problems, you can just figure you've been fooled into thinking that it's the flu, but it really isn't.
Then I suggest you go to your local pig farm and lip kiss as many pigs as you can.
They Miss You and can't wait any longer for their favorite John to return with the Cash.
Very funny, but I think your portrayal of Bachmann is far too "nice" - the real Bachmann is downright scary!
Nice! Maybe y'all would get a kick out of our own treatment of swine flu xenophobia, a little tune called "Don't Cough on Me, Alejandro. " http://bit .ly/gewWR
I LOVED IT!!! Nice vocals by the way.
Everyone should listen to this wonderful satire.
Michele Bachmann. Sarah Palin. Virginia Foxx. The Three Stooges (no offense to Larry, Mo and Curly).
LOL!
Pretty Funny!
Michele... .put down the pipe!
Michele Bachmann is a better comedienne than Julit Jeske. Sorry.
Bachmann is a comedienne but doesn't know it.
True dat
In 1976 a Republican president with a terrible golf stroke got a near unamimous vote in Congress from Democrats to back his idiotic "swine flu" show. Only one Democrat vorted against Gerald Ford's stupid federal inoculation progam. The lone Democrat who voted against this waste of tax dollars was a Georgia Congressman and a http://www .youtube.c om/watch?v =ma6Cnqqv3 9Ma6Cnqqv39M
Obama is doing the same stupid thing that Ford did. Bachmann got a date and and an administration wrong, Obama thinks that flu viruses can be manipulated equally among the masses by simply waving a socialist wand and decreeing: "only the government can cure what ailes you. I therefore decree that all pig, bird, human mutated flu bugs must seek permission from the office of Rahm Emanuel so that he can find a way not to waste a good flu pandemic.
Well, that'll open up a job for a new assistant. ..can't be all bad.
All this administration is doing is implementing the program developed in the Bush administration (although that was for bird flu). Obama's only statement was "don't panic, and wash your hands." There's been no decree and no claim the government can cure anything. You might want to consider, as Bachmann, Cantor and others do not, that if you want to persuade anybody who doesn't already agree with you that you have to make sense and you have to use facts.
Do you have a fever?
So if you're imagining Obama's "stupid" federal innoculation program what does tthat say about you? On a more realistic note, as the country that ranks 35th in the world in health care I would only hope that we could socialize medicine in order to get some real health care around here.
I love these guys who scream 'socialist' without knowing what either that or 'fascist' means. Don't you know that 'fascism' is when private businesses control the interests of government and 'democracy' is when the people are represented in government? Socialism, on the other hand, is when the controlling party (representative of the people also) owns everything in lieu of the people. God, get it straight already! Besides, the American people have spoken, WE WANTED THIS PRESIDENT! Sorry you don't like that. Go back to your hole and wait for your next round of culture wars.
"Stupid is as stupid does" was a favorite saying of the Tom Hanks character Forrest Gump.
Obama is doing the same stupid thing in 2009 that Gerald Ford did in scaring hell out of people and wasting- (yes, even socialists "waste" tax payer dollars)- on a non-event in 1976 with his federal swine flu program.
My point rekk is that Dems are as capable of getting behind ridicuolous and idiotic federal programs as Repubs.
History will show the world that the Obama administration was the most wasteful of any of the "warfare and welfare" administrations.
Your description of socialism is communism. Socialism is where the government owns the means of production, not EVERYTHING. Look it up.
Some other things that are "remotely Mexican": The United States Southwest, turkeys, avocados, possums, raccoons, wil boar, tomatoes, potatoes (via South America), corn, beans, peanuts, chocolate, sweet potatoes, marbles, marygolds, tar, grasshoppers, chewing gum, incense, coyotes, cod fish, rubber, rope fiber, tequila, mortar, pestles, prickly pears, ocelots, kites, peyote, collard greens, quetzal birds, frogs, tamales, steam baths, open air markets, chalk, and ball games. THROW THEM ALL OUT. And while youre at it, get rid of your gardener and nursemaid.
.....garli c, onions, certain types of hats, woolen blankets, peppers, sandy beaches, cool fruity drinks, beer with lime, armadillos, guitar music.....
I'm drinking a beer w lime, while chewing fum, and stir frying some onions, garlic, and ground turkey; to be served w sweet potatoes (my fav);-D
What? Get rid of all our Presidents from Texas? Too late.
I thought cod fish was from New England, as in Cape Cod.
remember, these things only have to be REMOTELY Mexican.
If the United States Southwest is remotely Mexican, then wouldn't that mean that the rest of the Union is also remotely Mexican? I mean, we are one nation, under Canada, after all.
"Ignorance is bliss", says Bachmann`s publicist. ...
The latest "Swine-Bird-human mutation" Flu, declassiffied down to just "swine flu" is that it may not be the "PANDEMIC" it was being billed as. Boy, I bet Rahm Emanuel must be ticked that another "crisis" has slipped his hands.
May Day : Obama has said that the swine flu may turn out to be no worse than ordinary flu.
Why all the hysteria?
Obama and the CDC should be in the skit:
"It may turn out that H1N1 runs its course like ordinary flus, in which case we will have prepared and we won't need all these preparations," Obama said. "We're taking it seriously," adding that even if the flu turns out to be mild, it could come back in a deadlier form during the normal flu season.
When CFR annointed pastor Rick Warren asked candidate Obama,(8-08), when babies acquire "human rights," Obama answered: "Whether you're looking at it from a theological perspective or a scientific perspective, answering that question with specificity ... is above my pay grade."
Now that answer deserves a SKIT!
If a tiny foot kicking inside a mother's womb gives a mother a decent indication that she is carrying a baby with human rights around with her is not above her "pay grade, " then Americans should remove all health-related issues from all federal officials! Especially subjects as complex as virology and epidemiology.
Getting back to Rahm. Can't let a good crisis go to waste!
You just can't stop the crazy can you? Nice try though.
No, he really can't. He's in a vicious circle, all by himself.
Swine Flu? Stop panicking, it's not hamageddon.
