Republican candidate for Louisiana State Senate Joey DiFatta dropped out of the race yesterday citing stress-related chest pains.

Councilman DiFatta told an officer that he has sought counseling for an addictive behavior pattern. The reports also indicate that he showed officers his captain's commission from the sheriff's office both times.

DiFatta's comment to the Times Picayune? "If I had done something wrong, I would have been arrested."
