Karen E. Bender is the author of Like Normal People, a novel, and is co-editor of the anthology Choice: True Stories of Birth, Contraception, Infertility, Adoption, Single Parenthood and Abortion. Her fiction has appeared in The New Yorker, Granta, Ploughshares, The Harvard Review, Story and other magazines, and has been anthologized in Best American Short Stories, Best American Mystery Stories and has won two Pushcart Prizes.
