GET UPDATES FROM Karen Mangiacotti
Karen Mangiacotti is a happily married mom of seven living in New England. She didn't always live the glamorous life of transporting her kids form one place to another. She used to be a writer and comedian, but not one toddler at story time is impressed by this. She has been a single mom, a step-mom, a homeschooling mom, a co-housing mom, and now a blogging mom who writes about life in the Mangiacotti house, which is a little out there, but always an adventure. She is edited by her fabulous husband who is clearly unable to keep his editorial commentary to himself. She also works under the careful watch of her many precocious and outspoken children. It is a miracle anything gets done at all.

Last November I tossed rotting jack-o'-lanterns into an unused garden bed and hoped for the best. I occasionally watered it, I occasionally put some compost in there with it, but I mostly left it alone.

This summer I was happy to see huge leaves emerging from the garden bed, and...

I saw her sweet little reflection in the mirror, her...

When I was little I wanted to be a lot of things: Johnny Carson's replacement; A Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader so good I was the only one on the team; an artist with my own wing at the Boston Museum of Fine Art -- you know, normal stuff. I wanted to...
