The first time I visited Chatham and Cape Cod, Massachusetts, was 12 years ago when I was working at WHDH-TV in Boston and got some rare time off. So I took my mom for mini-escape and we stayed in this great bed and breakfast that I've now learned has been turned into a private residence.

During our stay we went and had a drink at the legendary Chatham Bars Inn and sat out on the veranda looking out over the ocean promising someday we'd come back and stay here.

It has taken me 12 years to finally keep that promise, only this time, doing my Travel Therapy videos, I was traveling solo, since my mom lives in Seattle and couldn't make the trip out.

Besides Chatham Bars Inn, I found a lovely bed and breakfast to feature in my Best of Chatham video, the Captain's House Inn, and instantly feel in love with the 16-room property and how innkeepers Jill and James Meyer and their staff of British interns take such good care of you. You truly feel pampered at the Captain's House and with Chef Kevin's amazing pastries at tea and gourmet breakfasts you're in for a culinary treat!

Be sure to check out my latest Travel Therapy video, featuring the top trips to take based on what you're going through in life, which features the Best of Chatham, Cape Cod, MA.
