Katherine Nichols has covered travel and lifestyle sports, fitness, and health since 1992, both as a staff writer and freelancer for a variety of publications, including the New York Times Magazine, San Francisco Chronicle Magazine, Associated Press, Travel Weekly, Runner’s World, Town & Country, Town & Country Travel, Shape, Copley News, Honolulu Magazine, Honolulu Star-Bulletin daily newspaper, inflight magazines, and Fodor’s and Gayot travel guidebooks. In addition, she wrote, produced, and hosted an adventure travel/diving television series in Hawaii for two years. An athlete since age 7, Nichols has raced in hundreds of running, swimming, outrigger canoe, and triathlon events, and is a two-time finisher of the Ironman Triathlon World Championship in Kona.
