Kathleen Turner, one of America’s foremost actresses, has starred in films including Body Heat, The Man With Two Brains, Romancing the Stone,The Jewel of the Nile, Peggy Sue Got Married, The Accidental Tourist, Prizzi’s Honor, War of the Roses, and Serial Mom. She has also appeared on Broadway in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Cocteau’s Indiscretion. Recently Ms. Turner was nominated for a Tony Award for her performance as Martha in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and directed the recent off-Broadway production of Crimes of the Heart. She was born in Missouri, but because of her father’s career as a foreign service diplomat, lived in several countries, including Canada, Cuba, Venezuela and England.

She is active in a number of organizations, include Planned Parenthood, Childhelp USA, and University Settlement House. She is a longtime board member of People For the American Way Foundation.
