I'm certainly no stranger to controversy.

I'm the spokeswoman for a lovely company called ToeSox, where I model yoga postures in their socks. Yup, you heard me. Just in their socks.

Needless to say, modeling in the nude is a surefire way to shake people up. Our...

A Jump of Faith

Posted February 2, 2011 | 19:40:00 (EST)

"Sometimes your only available transportation is a leap of faith."
--Margaret Shepard

This classic quote is inscribed on the cover of my two-year-old journal, which has chronicled my many interesting and often comical leaps of faith. The more I think about it, the more the term "leap" doesn't make...

Why Are We So Freakin' Angry?

Posted September 7, 2010 | 08:00:00 (EST)

"Forgo your anger for a moment and save yourself a hundred days of trouble." -Chinese proverb

I Am Not Body, I Am Spirit

I've always admired a good looking car. My grandfather used to collect vintage T-Birds -- unique, graceful and damn good looking. I have memories of my mother driving around in her mint green convertible T-Bird looking like a Charlie's angel. As beautiful as that memory is, it isn't the fancy...

Posted July 7, 2010 | 15:18:00 (EST)

I have the best job in the world.

I've been blessed with traveling the world in order to teach people yoga. I realize yoga still carries stereotypes such as granola-loving, uber flexible chant-till-you-drop fanatics, but I'm here to prove those people wrong.

Yoga will change your life.

I had...

I was just finishing up a review on organic dog biscuits entitled Bone Appetit! (quite tasty, I must say) when I ran across this video on Facebook entitled, "Jessica's Daily Affirmation". It came highly recommended from a friend so I took a short break to watch and was...

Mother's Day Yoga Poses: Baby's First Yoga (PHOTOS)

Posted May 5, 2010 | 13:39:00 (EST)

I love my mother.

I'm sitting at my computer gazing at a small frame of artwork I've had since childhood. It has simple etches of hearts and houses with the words inscribed,

"No matter what
No matter where
It's always home
If love is there."

I keep...

Yoga for the Tax Paying Blues

Posted April 20, 2010 | 11:13:00 (EST)

April is the cruelest month.

You said it, T.S. Eliot. Loud and clear, brother.

There are two very distinct ways to view April. Spring is budding and the weather is growing ever more lovely. The scent of jasmine fills the air in Southern California, flip flops get rescued from the...

I grew up like every proper child should--completely terrified of the monster that lived beneath my bed.

I had a lineup of about 20 stuffed animals at the foot of my bed. During the day they enjoyed tea parties with me. By dark...

I've discovered that writing my first blog for The Huffington Post can be a bit daunting in the "choosing a brilliant subject" department. Staring at a blank document with my fingers dead weight on my disco lit keyboard...
