Katie Peters has extensive experience in the field of disaster risk reduction, climate change, conflict and development. Her background includes research into the concept of resilience, integrated approaches to development, ‘climate smart’ disaster risk management and the securitisation of climate change. Her background includes working as a researcher, practitioner and supporting policy makers for organizations including the UK Department for International Development (DFID), Australian Department of Foreign Aid and Trade (DFAT), Institute of Development Studies, Plan International, Christian Aid, Action Aid, CARE International and Saferworld. Katie’s geographical focus includes South and South East Asia, East and Southern Africa and the Pacific.
