Even though the talent this year has been outstanding, I think all of America has known since the Top 24, that the finals would come down to David versus David.
David Archuleta has been pegged to take the crown since his very first audition. That infectious smile and innocence was just undeniable. Every time he opens his mouth, it's like a choir of angels rise behind him. For 17, or any age, he has handled this crazy experience in front of America with such poise and humility.
And now, on to David Cook. He possesses every part of the formula to becoming a true Idol. His intensity, his passion, and his drive to deliver not only unique, but consistently unforgettable performances, is the reason why he deserves to own his spot in the finale.
It's been a crazy ride this season that I know we've all enjoyed, and I think this finale will be one of the closest in Idol history. No matter who wins, I know we can expect to see 100% this week from both of the Davids. I can't wait to find out who the next American Idol to make their mark in the entertainment industry is going to be, but I think that, ultimately, it's going to wind up being both of them!

While I will admit that Archuleta can sing, I disagree with anyone who says he should be the winner. There are thousands of technically sound singers in the world who have no music career because they lack a distinctive feature in their voice or a star quality. Archuleta lacks both. He has a good voice, but is so forgettable it is laughable. He has no personality other than squinty eyes and mouthing the words "oh my gosh" over and over and over. An Idol is someone we want to watch, want to buy their music. Archuleta may well win, but his album sales will be on par with Taylor Hicks. Cook has charisma, a strong voice, and will sell may, many more albums than Archuleta.
Tell Justin to get a haircut. Unless he's covering a metal plate, that fro is really tired.
