Konstantin Kakaes is a Bernard L. Schwartz fellow at the New America Foundation, where he is studying the causes and consequences of technological innovation. Previously, he was a fellow of the International Reporting Project at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, where he researched the links between nuclear energy technology and nuclear weapons, and a Knight Science Journalism Fellow at MIT, where he studied the origins of the computer. From 2005 to 2009, he was The Economist's Bureau Chief in Mexico City, covering Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. He moved to Mexico from London, where he covered science and technology for The Economist. Mr. Kakaes has a degree in physics from Harvard University.
