6 Ways to Prevent Dry Hair During the Spring and Summer

Spring and summer months can be the hardest on your hair. You will be outside more, meaning the sun can cause dryness and damage. Here are some simple tips to follow in order to keep your hair looking soft and healthy.

The first tip to maintaining healthy hair is getting a haircut to help in removing dead ends. The second tip is to invest in a shampoo and conditioner that will either moisturize or repair your hair.

The third tip you want to do in preparing your hair for the swimming pool, is to spray with a leave in conditioner before going in. This will give your hair an extra layer of protection against the chlorinated water.

My fourth tip is to find a shampoo with added SPF protection. It helps from harmful UVA and UVB rays of the sun. The recommended SPF is between 10-15. Wearing a hat can also help from letting the UV rays penetrate your hair.

Air-drying your hair is the fifth tip. This can play an important role in keeping your hair healthy. You may also want to minimize the usage of your flat irons or blow dryers during the spring and summer. Using a blow dryer or flat iron can cause your hair to become dry and damaged from the heat. When using these tools just remember to apply a heat protectant product for best results.

Last but not least my sixth tip for you is to go to your local hair salon to get a professional treatment every two weeks to a month. You may also apply a treatment once a week yourself if you need extra moisture and repair. Consult your hairstylist for the best product for hair type and level of dryness.

If you take the time to go through and follow these tips, then you will see fabulous results. There are far too many people suffering from dry hair every spring and summer. If you read these tips and they work for you, be sure to pass them along to a friend and get the message out there. Enjoy this season with soft and beautiful hair!
