Kristi Boone owns a personal chef business in Olathe, Kansas, a suburb of Kansas City, MO. She got involved in politics as a volunteer with the Obama campaign, eventually taking a sabbatical from her business to work full time for Obama for America's Kansas operation. After the primary, she continued her involvement with the campaign and found that the next logical step was to get involved locally.

She is currently running for the Kansas House of Representatives against the county Republican Chairman in hopes of bringing positive change to Kansas state government.
