When I decided to move to Paris this fall, one of the things I was most excited about was the opportunity to see a Bucs game in Wembley Stadium.
I guess that makes me about the ugliest sort of American -- shouldn't I have been more excited about the cheese?...

There are several interesting storylines for this week's Bucs vs. Colts Monday Night Football game:
1. Peyton Manning's injury leads to the slow, painful death of the 2011-12 Colts. (Sorry, Curtis Painter.)
2. Jon Gruden returns to Tampa for the first time since his firing, as he announces the game....

Great win for the Bucs.
We Bucs fans were collectively biting our fingernails, I know, when the team was down late in the fourth quarter, but good ol' Josh Freeman saved the day!
When are we going to get a pass rush, folks? Am I right?
How about that Ronde...

This Sunday the Bucs, in full control of their playoff destiny, lost to the Detroit Lions 23-20. The same Detroit Lions, mind you, who had lost the previous 26 road games. The Drew Stanton-led Detroit Lions. THE DETROIT LIONS.
Effing game.
As with most of this season's losses (Saints and...

You know, there's only so many times you can say the same thing without feeling like a broken record.
Case in point: this Buc season. Any of this sound familiar?
These young Bucs sure have made a lot of progress since last season!
Who'd have thought the Bucs would...

Last year, the Bucs won 3 of their 16 games. They were a terrible team, and it was easy as Bucs fans to know our role. We lamented the losses, we looked forward to the draft, and we prayed for the miraculous rebuilding fantasy to become a reality.
This offseason,...

In a season of near-losses to bad teams, last week's Falcons game seemed like a turning point. In what some considered a moral victory, the Bucs finally played a solid game against a team with a winning record and lost by a margin of inches.
In contrast, this week's Panthers...

I don't know about other Bucs fans, but for me, this loss hurt.
This one hurt more than the blowout losses to the Saints and Steelers.
It hurt more than all of last year's 13 torture sessions. Combined.
Yep, this losing feeling was vintage, like December 2008 when the team...

Ok, we get it. Josh Freeman is the master of the fourth-quarter comeback.
For those keeping score, the Bucs' 38-35 victory over the Arizona Cardinals was Freeman's 6th fourth-quarter comeback, an impressive feat in only 16 total starts. But in this close-call win, things were a little different. This time...

According to Bucs' head coach Raheem Morris, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the best team in the NFC.
And I quote, "We're the best team in the NFC. Yeah, I said it. We're excited."
Well, ok then, Raheem. Let's go ahead and ignore the first three quarters of this weekend's...

This Sunday I took my first trip to Phebe's, a Cincinnati Bengals-loving restaurant/bar in New York City. It's a potentially dangerous experience watching a game in enemy territory*, but it's informative as well. Though the Tampa/St. Pete/Clearwater area is not technically a small market, the Bucs are decidedly off the...

You want to read the X's and O's of the 38-13 smackdown that the Steelers laid on the Bucs? Steelers Chick has that covered.
You want to read the Oh's and No's of the game? You've come to the right place.
Because after two weeks of blissful Browns-...

I'm not getting ahead of myself. I know that the Bucs starting the season 2-0 doesn't mean they are going to win the next 14 games. It doesn't mean that the team will make the playoffs or even that they will end the season with a 500 record.
That said,...

It was the best of wins; it was the worst of wins; it was a half of strong defense; it was a half of botched plays; we had 15 wins before us; we had 15 losses before us.
Ok, ok, so Charles Dickens wasn't technically a fan of the NFL....

Do any of the following pertain to you?
• difficulty concentrating, remembering details, and making decisions
(e.g., Wait, when was the last time the Bucs had a star offensive weapon?)
• feelings of hopelessness and/or pessimism
(e.g., We'll never have a winning season again! And the team...

More reader mail! Apparently my previous--and, I might add, very successful--foray into advice-giving inspired another reader to follow suit. As always, I'm happy to lend an ear and a hand.
Dear Bucs Chick,
Last spring, I was offered a really amazing job at a shipping and...

This year the Bucs hold the number three overall pick in the draft, and the team has a great opportunity to pick up one of the draft-expert favorites. The promise of drafting a player who might help turn the team around is exciting--frankly, it's the only exciting thing that has...

Let's be honest. Most of the excitement this Buc season took place off the field. On the field, nothing much happened (except losing), but behind the scenes big stories started breaking last January and just kept coming. Gruden was fired and Coach Raheem was hired; Derrick Brooks and the other...

Usually we just talk football at Chicks in the Huddle, but I recently received an email asking for a little love advice. Now, I don't claim to be the next coming Ann Landers--or even Dr. Drew--but never one to ignore a faithful reader, I thought I'd give it a shot.
