I just left Washington about 9 hours ago. Currently, I am sitting at an internet 'cubicle' at a train station in Copenhagen. It is semi-outside, it's freezing, and the keyboard is different than in America. What have I gotten myself into?

But, I saw something very weird at the Dulles airport while I was wasting the two hours required for checking in to international flights. First of all, I was really surprised to see "Fox News Stores." I had no idea they were in the business of pimping out People Magazine, the National Enquirer, and Us Weekly.

Besides that, I noticed some cute little bears they were selling. Some had the Presidential seal on them. Others had simply been embroidered with "Washington, DC".

What shocked me was the "Hillary '08" bear. The tag on the bear was clearly Hillary's logo. Hmmmmm. What could that mean? Is Fox News endorsing Hillary for President? Maybe when donkeys fly and Bill O'Reilly votes Democrat.

Did Hillary license merchandise that ended up being sold in stores branded by Fox News? Something along those lines is more likely. I was going to buy one for evidence, but I'm broke, so I didn't. I'll be asking Hillary's folks if they know anything about it. If I get any new information, I'll be sure to update to let you know.

As an aside, I'm in Europe to attend a good friend's 50th birthday party. We will also celebrate her being selected as the new Leader of the Social Democratic Party of Sweden. While I'm in Copenhagen and then while in Stockholm, I plan to blog about conversations with regular people, political professionals, and perhaps a few elected officials. What I'll be looking for is their impressions of American politics and how it has evovled over the last few years. It could be interesting.

If you are so inclined, check it out over the next six days at my personal blog, News For the Left at www.lanehudson.com.
