With economy in the tank, Bush approval ratings below 30%, McCain campaign floundering without a theme, Obama has been having the best last three weeks in media yet.

Obama stays at 46% over last several weeks. McCain +4 at 44%.

What does that tell you?

My answer: despite all the recent headlines, Senator Obama cannot afford to be confident -- and he needs to reach out to expand his base.

My answer: Senator Clinton would still help him most as a vice presidential candidate.

Personally, even at the risk of losing the election, I would rather see him with a running mate who can not only help him appeal to the groups that he's had some difficulty reaching out to, but someone who genuinely supports his candidacy and believes that he is a capable leader for our nation. I'm sorry, but I doubt that Sen. Clinton would be a genuine "team player" with Sen. Obama and that she would really work alongside him not only campaigning. Not only that, but should they win I don't think they would be able to work very well together, there would still be some hard feelings on both sides that would hinder that.

I'm pretty sure at this point the deck chairs have floated away from the sinking carcass of the Titatnic. Stop trying to rearrange them.

Lanny,

So which hat did you pull this poll out of? Cause all the polls that *I'm* seeing show McCain trailing Obama by more than double digits!

Now then, I agree, Obama can't get complacent, but since he hasn't started doing so yet, I think that we are relatively safe!

Question: Does Gallop poll the same people every day? Cuz, I am thinking, one day, they could call mostly Obama or McCain supporters and that's who will lead in the polls that day. Does that mean that if Obama was leading by 5 points yesterday and is today, he is even or trails McCain, that there was some seismic shift in the way people feel?

I doubt it. That's why I don't follow polls.

An no, sorry, but Sen Clinton will not be his running mate. Could it be that the poll numbers are being fudged to try and force his hand in that direction?

What does this tell me, Lanny? It tells me you still can't add. Obama's latest numbers are 51% but then maybe Lanny's required, as a Fox rambler, to quote the numbers Rupert provides in tne NY Post funny paper.

Actually Lanny your LYING again....according to Gallup:

General Election: McCain vs. Obama Gallup Tracking Obama 46, McCain 43 Obama +3.0

McCain is not at 44%
Get off it and leave Obama alone and go back to the lying dogs at FOX

Lanny, you just never give up do you. This has nothing to do with Hillary Clinton. It has to do with primary fatigue. People aren't paying any attention (I'd also never make a decision based on a daily poll - but the again, you're from the Clinton years so that's probably hard to fathom.)

Oh Lanny, God love ya!
I do hope The Clintons really appreciate how hard you consistently work for them; I doubt it though.

So the NEWSWEEK Poll that has Obama beating McCain by 15 is meaningless I guess.
You can cite whatever poll you want, but this dog ain't gonna hunt.
Hillary as V.P. was a bad idea yesterday, & remains a bad idea.
Of course there is a place in the Obama Administration for someone with Sen. Clinton's talents.
But V.P. is not it.

Mr. Davis, before I would ask Sen. Clinton to be my running mate, I would insist that she publicly apologize for insinuating that Sen. Obama was a Muslim ("Well, as far as I know, he's not a Muslim"), and for saying that he's an elitist who's "out of touch" with the issues working-class Americans face, when out of he, Sen. Clinton and Sen. McCain, Obama grew up with the least advantages financially. She should also apologize for pretending that she didn't know Rev. Wright personally when both she and Bill Clinton sought SPIRITUAL COUNSELING from him when Bill Clinton was President. I'm not surprised you've got a new job at Fox News, the same network that's been smearing Sen. Obama and pretending to praise Clinton only because they both hate and fear Sen. Obama.

By the way, I'm not naive enough to think that any of these things will happen.
