Inauguration day: What's it all about in six words? Hope or impeachment? Ending war of helping the poor? In other words: what half-dozen choice words do you want to hear from Obama on January 20?
SMITH Magazine and The National Constitution Center have put out a challenge called Six Words to Inspire a Nation to find out what you're hoping to hear from the next president. We've received thousands of entries, only a few dozen of which are about sending Cheney to prison. A few go like this:
"Keep your coins, America needs change." "Always remember America is your boss." "Careful with that. It could break." "Remove your shoes--We're cleaning House!" "People mired in fear can't dance." "And now for something completely different."
Our six favorite ones will be sent to Obama speechwriters, and the top winner takes home a leather-bound volume of the Constitution. Five runners-up receive a Six-Word Memoir book, a little beauty which includes the six-word memoir of Arianna Huffington, "Fearlessness is the mother of reinvention." Not bad.
The contest ends January 5 -- so it's last call.
