Laura Brounstein has been Entertainment Director of SELF magazine since 2007. Ms. Brounstein is responsible for all of SELF’s entertainment coverage including celebrity covers (such as Jennifer Lopez, Beyoncé, Carrie Underwood, Renee Zellweger), features and editorial events. She posts celebrity related news regularly to the SELFy Stars blog on Self.com.

Prior to joining SELF, Ms. Brounstein was Entertainment Editor of Ladies’ Home Journal (since 2002) where she has worked with subjects including Nicole Kidman, Madonna, Ashley Judd, Faith Hill, Sheryl Crow and many others. She also wrote her own blog and frequently appeared as an on-camera spokesperson about Hollywood. Prior to that, she was the Director of Corporate Communications for Primedia (2001-2002) and Director of Editorial Public Relations for Seventeen magazine (1999-2001).

Before joining the magazine industry, Ms. Brounstein worked in television, as a Segment Producer for Extra and an Associate Producer for Good Morning America. As a college student, she was a Press Assistant/Intern in the White House Press Office.

Ms. Brounstein was named one of Folio: magazine’s “Thirty Under 30” in 2000. She received a Bachelor of Science with Honors from Cornell University.
