Laura is the Principal-in-Charge of Government, Regulatory Affairs and Public Policy at PwC. As a member of the firm’s executive management team, she leads the firm’s external affairs strategy related to government, regulatory affairs and public policy and developes integrated strategies to achieve public policy and public affairs objectives. Laura also serves on PwC’s Global Public Policy Board, which coordinates public policy strategies across more than 150 countries in which PwC operates. She is the Chair of the AICPA’s Federal Legislative Task Force, which coordinates strategies for shaping legislative policy that impact the accounting profession, and is a member of the Center for Audit Quality’s executive advisory committee.

Laura writes and speaks regularly about issues related to her work in public policy, her experience with corporate governance and accounting issues, as well as on topics related to women’s leadership, the importance of mentoring, the benefits of diversity, and challenges associated with navigating work and life priorities.

Prior to joining PwC, Laura served on a three-person, senior leadership team at the SEC working for then Chairman William H. Donaldson. In that role, Laura oversaw all external affairs. Prior to the SEC, Laura served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Banking and Finance at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, and before that spent almost 10 years as a communications strategist on Capitol Hill.

Laura supports a number of charities with particular focus on those dedicated to empowering and supporting women, and those aimed at helping military personnel, Veterans, and their families. She is a founding board member of All In Together, serves on the Development Committee of the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, is Chair of the Board of the Global Women in Innovation, and serves on the board of Value in Electing Women Political Action Committee (VIEW PAC). She also served on the Launch Committee for Sheryl Sandberg’s “Lean In” Foundation.

Laura and her husband Joel have two young children and live in Washington, DC.
