Laura Finley is Assistant Professor of Sociology & Criminology at Barry University. She is also author or co-author of ten books and has another book to be released in April 2012. Dr. Finley's work has also been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals. In addition to her academic work, Dr. Finley is a community activist for peace, justice and human rights. She is actively involved in a number of local, state and national organizations and serves on the boards of No More Tears, the Peace and Justice Studies Association, UN Women East Florida Chapter, Floridians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty, and the Humanity Project.
