5 Reasons Every Single American Needs to Register as a Republican Today

Posted: 10/03/11 08:55 PM ET

Yes, this means you.

  1. There is a good chance that our current president will lose the 2012 election. Registering as a Republican is the main way you get to have a say as to which Republican candidate gets the nomination and could end up as your next president.
  2. It can take up to three months to get officially registered as a Republican, so doing it now is important, and the primaries start in early February 2012. This simple form can be picked up at your DMV or post office. You must do this in early October to allow adequate time.
  3. If you are shaking your head as a Democrat thinking, "Why would I register as a Republican?" imagine what you will be thinking as President Perry takes his oath because all Americans did not stand up and vote in the primaries for the Republican candidate they wanted most.
  4. Once you are registered, you will be sent a card that tells you where you vote, and you will need to find out when your state's Republican primary is.
  5. Some states have open primaries and registered Independents can vote in either the Democratic or Republican primary.

If you want your voice to be heard and you want to avoid having a president you absolutely do not agree with on anything, pick the Republican candidate you think is best and vote for him or her in the primary. Even as a registered Republican, you can still vote for our current president in the 2012 election. Registering as a Republican allows you to vote in the primaries but does not limit whom you vote for in the actual presidential election.

Need a new leader. Please read the WAR WASTE report. Over 1 Trillion dollars spend in Afghanistan and Irag for no tangible service or asset. Now the DOD and Obama want to seal and hide the report for 20 years. We cannot afford the WAR, and our politicians cannot manage it. Ron Paul end this please.

It's complicated though. If "Ponzi scheme" Perry wins the primary, does he really stand any chance of winning the general election? I guess the same could be said of Romney and the rest of these jokers though.

My question is does any of them?? It is a laughing stock out there.

This election will come down to the STATE of the economy. More people out of work 2+ years, College Grads trying to get work, the DOW sitting under 8000 again, 62% of America underwater on their house, Gas at 5+ bucks, Bread at 6+ bucks. When April 2012 comes and the debt ceiling needs a bump...are you all so positive Obama will be re-elected. I agree with the man on this quote, "everything else is fodder".

Would love to witness an economic/constitutional law debate between Ron Paul and Barack Obama.

Who could possibly afford another four years of Barack Obama ? Just the defense spending costs alone will toast whatever's left of our economy. Printing money or electronically adding zeros to bank accounts is not the answer. A rough landing is better than a crash and burn, I want to pick my candidate of choice. Love to see a Paul-Kucinich ticket - stabilize the economy and end some wars anything else well's icing on the cake.

Defense spending, Serious Times? You do realize most of the republican candidates want to invade Iran. Perry wants to go into Mexico. You think defense spending is bad now? That's laughable compared to what could happen.

Save your breath, I'm voting Ron Paul and a complete CUT of Empire Building spending. That is why I have registered Rep. Obama can't balance his campaign budget, let alone the nations budget. Obama also spent 1 trillion in war waste as well, that is sending on on War that yeilded no asset or service, such as with local contractors in Afghan or services not delivered by contractors like Haliburton. Then to add to that fiasco, the Obama adminsitration is trying to seal the wartime contracting report...see it yourself at www.wartimecontracting.gov

You did 8 of Bush, which is crazier?
03:58 PM on 10/11/2011
I didn't vote Bush, I voted Obama in '08 a regret it every morning I hear the news.

You actually think the "change" is changing to Republicans, that's like a hole in the head ,NEEDLESS
07:52 AM on 10/04/2011
All the new laws restricting voting registration isn't enough to pad the republicans numbers? Good try.
06:39 PM on 10/10/2011
I think the point is to vote in the Republican primary for the GOP candidate LEAST likely to defeat Obama.

The Republicans have been playing this game for years. Just as they're placing fake candidates on the ballot to keep their corrupt politicans in place.

How refreshing it would be to vote for the best person for the job, instead of voting for the least objectionable of the potential nominees.

Barack Obama will win re-election! Who are you recruting for anyway? The list of Republican
candidates defies logic, reason and mental acuity. The silent majority will rise up and stop
this insanity!

I had the same thought before both GW Bush elections, never overestimate the sanity of the American electorate.

Whoa.. republicans getting REALLY desperate now. Here is a clue:
Just because your propaganda network is telling Americans how much they shouldn't like President Obama, and just because the republicans have spent the last three years convincing themselves that their opinions are the only ones that matter, it hasn't changed the reality. The majority of Americans, which you are totally disregarding, have watched the GOP bury itself in its zeal to try to convince America that they should be returned to power. Anyone voting for these horrendous fools has proven that they should never be allowed to have any sort of say in the lives of the rest of the people that live in this country... and the idea that the people in this country should all go register as republicans so we can pick the republican we want as president, since Obama isn't going to win?
RIDICULOUS
06:50 AM on 10/04/2011
horrendous fools? And Obama isn't a wall street puppet, just like every other president since carter has been a puppet? Ron Paul 2012
02:49 PM on 10/11/2011
Any smart person would give themselves voting options, since Obama has been a utter failure, and getting worse. See no Democrats challenging him either...even though I am sure Democrats have been severely disappointed in him.

I think there is a better reason to register as a republican...That way you are almost guaranteed that they will LET you VOTE..... You won't be stopped or questioned, or told you have to fill out a provisional ballot........

Barack Obama will win reelection BECAUSE of the actions, behavior and candidates the Republicans have shown. Even the House will be back in Democratic hands. You can thank Eric Cantor for that.

Yeah he will lose because of his actions, behavior and his failures as president. And the chances of the Democrats taking the house back are slim to none. Most likely the Rep. will take the senate this time also. So get ready for some real change, change that will move this country forward not backwards as obama has done.

The re-election will come down to the state of the economy. People out of work for 2+ years, college grads looking for jobs, 62% of America that is upside down on their house, a DOW at
