Lauren Robel
Lauren Robel is Executive Vice President of Indiana University and Provost of IU Bloomington. After 10 years as dean of the Maurer School of Law, she became provost in 2012. Among her chief responsibilities during her first year was facilitating one of the largest academic transformations in IU Bloomington history: the recommendations of the New Academic Directions report, which called for several new schools and interdisciplinary programs including global, online, and student success initiatives. Provost Robel is the Val Nolan Professor of Law, and her research areas include federal courts and federal civil rights. Her present focus is the development of a campus strategic plan to ensure a third century of academic excellence at Indiana University Bloomington.
