Leanne Scorzoni graduated in 2004 from the University of Maine at Farmington with her Bachelor's in Creative Writing, and later moved to New York City to attend New School University, where she studied for her Master's degree in Creative Nonfiction. She currently works as an Executive Assistant and teaches English as a Second Language in her spare time. She has been published in various university literary magazines and has been quoted in the New Yorker, the Washington Post, and for Alhurra TV.

A longtime political and social activist, Leanne's passions are human rights and social justice issues around the world. A long time supporter of PFLAG and a proud LGBT ally, she currently resides in the Boston area.
