Maybe I am old school but I still think a President deserves respect. Like him or not its a job most of us could not do or want to do. Its easy to be the comedian when you don't have the hard choices to make.
Bush disgraced the office of president, and the nation, and he deserves no respect. What he deserves is a very long prison sentence, followed by complete obscurity.
Where have you been the 8 years? Is it only the US president who deserves respect? How about Marcos, Mugabe, Mussolini, Ceausescu, et al. Have you paid attention to what Bush/Cheney have wrought on thew world!

Why do people act like we should treat out-going Presidents as if they were Pope or King? Bush is just another citizen now, like the rest of us. We don't have to kiss his butt and silence criticism of him.
That is the beauty of America. We don't have Kings/Queens. We promote a fellow citizen as leader for a period of 4 to 8 years, then they go back to being citizens. Our right to criticize them is protected by the Constitution.
Bush had an oppurtunity to serve us well, but failed. He should be criticized.
