What??? There's something the media has not covered in all this??? Then the media is truly IN... COM... PE.... TENT!!!! I can't think of a story that has been overkilled as much as this one. We're talking MEGADEATH-level (the nuclear term, not the band) overkill here.
MJ was an entertainer, not Jesus, for crying out loud!
Do you want to really know what the media isn't telling you about Micheal Jackson's death?
HE HAD LUPUS!!!!!!!!
The coverage about him could only be described as immoral.
Lupus is a life-threatening condition with no modern medical treatment (no treatment has been approved for it since 1965-that's before the invention of modern drug development) that can cause, among lots of other things, disfiguring of the skin on the face, phototosensitivity, personality changes and intense pain.
Once I heard one his so called friends say that they were tipped off that he was a constant IV drug abuser because he wore long sleeves all the time which patients with photosensitivies must do!, and the Wolf Blitzer let it go, I official have stopped watching CNN forever.
He was an American icon. I am saddened he was smeared at his death this way.
I think the huge public response to Michael Jackson's death has a lot deeper significance than the media can fathom, especially in the US. I see Michael Jackson not only as an artist, entertainer and decent human being, which he undoubtedly was, but also as a metaphor for the US, the death of US exceptionalism and that crazy dream.
Mr. Camp, what was your point? First of all it wasn't Michael's fault that the media decided to focus on him. Second of all if this was Elvis , John Kennedy Jr. or John Lennon or Princess Di who would you be complaining? The media could have reported on both stories, but I guess they decided what gave them more ratings. Don't get me wrong, I think what was going on in Iran was important. But I am also sick of certain people who think losing a talent like Michael J. Jackson didn't matter to alot of people. I was a fan of that guy for 40 years, I grew up on his music and I am so sorry to see him pass. I don't give a darn what anyone say, I will miss , the greatest entertainer ever. I'm so sorry his life ended that way. Feeling as strong as I do about this, doesn't mean that I don't want things to get better for the people of Iran. Or I don't want our soldiers to come home from Iraq. Or I don't want peace in the Middle East. Or I don't want our economy to get better, and people to get jobs. I can still care about the world and the lost of Michael J. Jackson too.
Very well said, Marry. I too, have had the boy teen man as part of my life, all of my life. I didn't know hiim, but anyone who would call security to get a bug off of the stage because he didn't want to crush it during dancing, and who told the security guard "don't kill it, please don't kill it" well, I know that kind of person could never hurt anyone. The guy was acquitted of all charges, yet people are still trying to act like he is guilty, well, I just can't understand that. Thankflully, I have been able to rediscover his music on youtube. The man was a loving, sensitive, brilliant genius who gave his all to help this world. He was the best entertainer in American history, and I want my nieces to know all about him and his music. The humanitarian side of the man can't be ignored, Earthsong is one of my favorites. He was in the Guiness Book of world records for giving the most to charities. He was an American Treasure that the whole world loved and embraced. He sold out stadiums that held 75,000 people all over the world. Who the heck else has ever done that??
Dern you, MJ! You should have waited to die. Didn't you know what was going on in Iran?
Seriously. How does America get the finger wag when the entire world was watching the MJ coverage? I resent that. As if his rabid fans all live in the USA. Just because he was American, we get blamed for the MJ media flame.
I'm quite sure everyone who was paying attention knew about the situation in Iran before the Michael Jackson coverage. The information and updates on Iran were available throughout last week for the interested.

and I saw Jesus' face on a potato chip.
Please be careful who you mock and ridicule; the same evil words and thoughts can come back in life to strike you in the face!
Micheal Who ?
Michael Jackson clown that's Michael who!! Who's going to remember you when you're gone???
tv media plays to the lowest common denominator because they are basically anti-intellectual
anti-intel lectual?.. .so is the general public.
