Anchorage TV Station: Sarah Palin Was "Definitely Pregnant" With Trig
I spoke to Cherie Shirey, Assignment Manager for TV station KTVA in Anchorage and she made the following statement...
"These internet rumors are very bizarre. We worked with Governer Palin many times in 2008. Our reporters worked her on location and in the studio and I worked with her myself. She was definitely pregnant. You could see it in her belly and her face. The whole idea that Sarah Palin wasn't pregnant with Trig is completely, absolutely absurd. "
It's a KTVA reporter in this picture with Governor Palin. Shirey confirmed the photo was taken in April, 2008.
Update: The picture was taken in 2008. This is confirmed.
However, a commentator points out that according to this link from Flickr, the picture WASN'T taken in 2008 but in fact seems to have been taken in March, 2005.
Here's why the March, 2005 is wrong - that camera wasn't announced until the end of July 2005. So now the conspiracy involves TIME TRAVEL, as well!
The time problem is why I called in the first place. The photo is from when Palin was Governor, end of the 2008 session, multiple witnesses, video tape...all the things sane people need to come to reasonable conclusions.
The incorrect 2005 date is easily explained - they didn't set the date correctly. I've done that. Look at these Piroshkis that Flickr says I took digital photos of in 1972, when I was seven years old! Those things are delish, by the way.

Why are they quoting miscellaneous people. Where are the family photos with her being pregnant?
The baby was born in April. On this picture she was seven or eight months. She looks good. Compare the above picture with a photo from other one of Palin's pregnancies. I do not know how many months along she was in this picture. In the picture above, is it a baby bump or a pillow?

If she were pregnant then, wouldn't there be records of regular visits to her OB/GYN, ultrasounds, etc? She claims that they were told Trig was a Down's child and still decided to keep him. Wouldn't there be medical records of all of that? Wouldn't that count as real proof? Why throw your own daughter under the bus by telling the world about her condition instead of releasing those records to the public? A picture is proof enough for you after everything you went through to put the Edwards' story out there?
As Palin's recounts herself about the birth of her son Trig; she experienced amniotic fluid leaking before the speech she was supposed to give in Texas (and no way was she going to miss doing that!) or as most people understand it as...her water broke. She gave her speech (water broken) then took an 8 hour flight from Dallas to Anchorage then got in a car and drove to Wasilla to give birth....w
Still Lee, the story stinks. It's full of holes. And while I know you are bitter that you got a lot of crap about the Edwards story, for you to completely give this one a pass casts a pall over your integrity.
My daughter was 3 weeks earlier and it is when I knew what "my water broke" meant. Believe me and this can be gross, it is one of the worse experiences I had ever had, because yes the water does not stop until you have the baby, and it can take up to 16 hours before the baby is born. If she was able to get home from Texas with all that water coming down her legs .... I think it is just funny.

I'll take your word that this happened to YOU, however I can assure you that your experience is not at all typical.
The Edwards comparison is apt. You'd have thought he was running for prez with all the stories. Now we're supposed to let this go. Ha! SHE IS a candidate, not a former candidate.

So now ALL medical records of ANY candidate are fair game? You think YOU have a right to see her deepest private medical records? OR that of her children?
The whole rumor did seem a little farfetched.
The thing that made it seem so plausible, however, is that Palin was supposedly leaking amniotic fluid and still gave her speech, waited for a flight, stopped in Seattle but decided to continue on to Alaska, and drove past a superior hospital.
It still sounds like she made some poor decisions on this, as did her doctor. Either she was influenced by her hormones (in which case why should she have trusted her instincts as Governor) or she was not unduly influenced by her hormones and just doesn't make well thought out decisions.
This is still a story about her ability to make sound decisions based on risk factors and not just on emotional attachment to her own home town hospital.
We can leave her daughter out of it.
Why are the Democrats so afraid of her? Huffington Post has more negative stories about this woman than any other site. I'm a Democrat and don't think this VP pick will affect the outcome of the race. It just seems to me that by giving her so much negative attention, it shows how worried Democrats are with McCain's choice....

With ALL of the Republican deception over the past 8 years, why would we believe ANYTHING they say.
Already EVERYTHING that McCain told us about Palin (except being a wife and mother) has been refuted.

So far she isn't impressive at all, and seems to be a person Cheney would be so proud of.
Because they know that any attack on her inexperience can easily be directed back at Senator Obama. They both are minorities (in politics), have a great and interesting back story but have thin resumes. Palin has no national experience but a bit of executive experience while Obama has the exact opposite.
I agree, VPs are almost never a factor.
Pregnant women spread their feet apart when they stand and her's are together in this photo. It's a balancing thing and your hips are spread apart which naturally makes you separate your legs. I'd like to see her walking in a video pregnant. It's a cover up......
I'm standing next to a pregnant woman at this very moment and her feet are together. I just read her what you wrote and she's laughing. Obviously every woman's pregnancy is different. Every woman's body is different.

Alright, Lee, if you're going to investigate this, do more than report on that which confirms your predetermined conclusions. After all, it's not that difficult to fake a "baby bump"... especially considering that video and photos from a month earlier show no bump at all. I'm not saying that she wasn't pregnant, but you should do a more thorough job of investigating this story.
I called to ask about the photo and to confirm the date. I got a clear statement. If I'd heard anything different, I'd have reported that.
What investigation have you done? Have you read any statements from people who knew or worked with Palin that contradict this?
I'm not the one that's asserting that the story is true or untrue...
the EXIF data does not support a picture taken in 2008. especially for a camera which was made most likely in 2004. Fuji has not been asked to provide manufacture date for the camera, but I bet they'd love the free publicity.
oh yeah a little more detail. the 2004 part...if the batteries were out or expired, the camera COULD reset to date of manufacture. at the time, a $700 digital camera with a lens and body like that was not something a novice would really get. so someone who did more than dabble would buy it....if it was procurement, it was an odd choice. in any case, the EXIF suggests the picture was 11:30 that March 2005 night.
Actually, this photo has been out for days. Where are the medical records? Why is there only this photo? And why did she gain almost no weight versus all her other pregnancies? And why did Bristol get pregnant during her "mono" seclusion?
This story would go away forever with records. Kerry had to prove he had been wounded for God's sake.
So that may be a baby bump, but there will be no bump in the polls!
