Obama Advisor Pete Rouse Improperly Claimed Property Tax Deduction

There's a surprising result of the work of investigator Joseph Culligan that I reported a few days ago about what appeared to be irregularities in the voting status of one of President Obama's top advisors, Peter Rouse. While it appears that Rouse may have been voting legally according to Alaskan election law, his voting status creates a conflict with his claim of a homestead deduction on his Washington D.C. residence.

In an email today from the Homestead Unit of the Office of Tax and Revenue, Joseph Culligan was told...

Upon review of Mr. Peter M. Rouse's case, he has not completely severed all ties to another state by voting outside of D.C.; therefore, we are reversing his homestead deduction and sending him a corrected bill.

Pete Rouse is listed as one of three Senior Advisors to President Obama and previously served as a top staffer to Tom Daschle for twenty years.
