Leslie Saxon, M.D., professor of clinical medicine at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of arrhythmias in patients with congestive heart failure.

She was recruited from UC San Francisco, where she was director of the electrophysiology laboratory and implantable device services.

In addition to using state-of-the-art resynchronization devices, such as modified pacemakers and implantable defibrillators, in patients with arrhythmias, or irregular heart rhythm disorders, she also collaborates with medical device companies to evaluate the latest interventional gadgets for patients with difficult-to-treat heart failure.

Saxon also performs radiofrequency ablation procedures. In these procedures, the physician applies radiofrequency energy, or heating energy, through an electrode at the tip of a catheter to remove a small area of heart tissue.
