Johnny Cupcakes. That is the name of one man, that same man is also one brand, that brand is now making a difference in people lives all around the globe by expanding what has been done by countless individuals....making t-shirts. From an outsider's perspective I could point out key factors that would seem to aid Johnny Cupcakes in it's success. It could be the fact the he decided to use the theme of pastries and a bakery for almost all of his designs. It could be that all of the t-shirts and other miscellaneous items of clothing are limited in number. Even more traditional would be to suggest it's his prime retail locations on Newbury St. in Boston or Melrose Ave. in Los Angeles. I am sure these ingredients give him an advantage. However now that I have gained an insider's perspective and become friends with Johnny, I am more than sure he was only able to accomplish these great feats due to whole-hearted passion of doing things the right way and for the right reasons from the very start.
I recently visited the young man in his hometown of Hull, MA and got to experience so many of the areas and personalities that have played a part in his life. In the video below I made an effort to describe Johnny the way I see him through my eyes (an ultimate success story) instead of reiterating a bunch of amazing facts that could be found if you decide to search his name on the internet.
