Lily Riahi is a currently finishing her thesis on the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), at Canada's York University, under the supervision of Liora Salter (Osgoode Hall), Jose Etcheverry and Peter Victor.

Lily has been a researcher in attendance at all the IRENA meetings since it's first Prepatory Conference in April 2008. At present she resides in Berlin where she is finishing her thesis research as an intern at the Deutscher Bundestag (German Parliament).

She is also a contributing writer for Renewable Energy World and PV magazine, works as a research and policy analyst for the Canadian Renewable Energy Alliance (CanREA), and is a steering committee member of the Alliance for Renewable Energy working to advance Feed-in-Tariffs, also known as Renwable Energy Payments, in the USA and Canada. Lily is a contributor in the forthcoming Global Status Report on Local Renewable Energy Policies and worked as a researcher for ICLEI - Governments for Local Sustainability. She also helped conduct a sustainability assessment of Ontario's Integrated Power System Plan for a recent legal hearing in Canada.

After obtaining her BA in Political Science, Psychology, and Economics from the University of Toronto, Lily went on to gain experience in sales and marketing, creating experiential event-marketing campaigns for Fortune 500 companies and charities. She now applies much of her experience to promote renewable energy and demand management.
