Early on in my glamorous (and painfully fast-paced) fashion career, I realized something: the way I worked was turning me from a poised, intelligent human being into a tightly wound little ball of stress and tension. I desperately needed ways to relax and retreat - even if it was only for a couple of hours - for myself… and my sanity. So before every trip, I started to conduct hours of research, planning for self-care in my few precious hours of downtime. Detailed lists of yoga studios, spas, hotels with saunas, and healthy restaurants were tucked into my bag alongside show sheets and new product sketches. I realized wellness was where my true passion lay, and I left the fashion world to kick off Pravassa. Shortly after launching, Pravassa was recognized by British Airways as a winner in its Face-of-Opportunity contest. As a certified wellness expert and consultant, both Pravassa and I have been featured in Forbes.com, New York Magazine, ABCnews.com, Organic Spa Magazine, Travel Age West, Well+Good NYC, Just Luxe, JetSet Extra, Ecosalon, Spa Finder, Sherman’s Travel, Travel to Wellness, Business New Daily among others. In addition to the HuffPo, I am a regular to MindBodyGreen.com and have been a featured guest on CBS New York’s The Couch, Yahoo! Travel’s series Tour & Explore, on New York local show LIVE It Up, HuffPost Live. I have just been invited to speak as a Wellness Travel expert for both the New York Times & LA Times 2014 Travel Shows. When not leading groups of wellness seekers around the world, I am based in New York City where I bike between my favorite fitness classes and healthy restaurants.
