She could be seen riding her pony, Macaroni, on the lawn and playing with her cousins and brother John Kennedy, Jr. After her father's assassination in 1963, she and her family settled on Manhattan's Upper East Side where she attended high school before going on to Radcliffe and Columbia Law School.

My favorite tidbit is Amy Carter's refusal to be given away at her wedding because she belongs to no one- I bet her parents are proud.

Mr. Carter has spoken with my husband on the phone and he is very proud of Amy and thinks it is great that she kept the Carter name after getting married. She is still the apple of his eye.
