This weekend while you're grilling hot dogs, snacking on watermelon and watching fireworks, why not mix up some all-American cocktails?

From a punch made famous by the first First Lady to a red, white and blue layered concoction, here are some of our favorite patriotic drinks.

After leaving office, George Washington became a very successful distiller, selling rye, brandy and possibly rum. And his beloved wife was well-known for this citrusy punch she often served guests.

Been trying to figure out what to do with that bottle of rum we had leftover from vacation. I like ginger ale so this might be a keeper.
