Sarah Palin was in Southern California, and wingnut actor, anti-father figure and notorious Campaign Chest Supporter Jon Voigt was working the crowd of 15,000 gathered Saturday outside the Home Depot Center in Carson, a suburb about half an hour south of Los Angeles. After all, his movie, the conservative yuk fest An American Carol opened Friday. And the reviews were not good.
Voigt mingled with the crowd, hugging well wishers and urging people to vote for McCain. And according to the Long Beach Press Telegram, he's big fan of Gov GILF:
I think she would be a great commander in chief. I think she would be great.
Yup, he's crazy. Palin herself seemed a little befuddled herself, saying to the audience, "All of us who consider ourselves progressive yet at the same time we can be conservative..." then later made reference to to "Reagan Democrats," and cheered that if the Republicans can take California they'll win the election. You betcha.
She did also some product placement, endorsing a coffee company while sharing:
Somethin' sorta providential...I was readin' on my Starbucks mocha cup, okay? The quote of the day? You'll never believe what the quote was. It was Madeline Albright, the former Secretary of State and UN Ambassador, and Madeline has to say as her quote of the day for Starbucks, now she said it and I didn't, she said, "There's a place in hell reserved for women who don't support other women.
Wow, so Sarah, does that mean you crossed party lines and voted for Hillary in primary? Oh and the verb in the actual quote is "help" not "support."
After whoops from the crowd, she continued. "Thank you so much for receiving that well. California, let's see what a comment like I just made, how that is turned into whatever it'll be turned into tomorrow in the newspaper."

The best support anyone can give Palin is a one-way ticket back to a place they USED to not consider her a fool.
Off Topic, but the last time I saw Jon Voight, he was wandering around Hollywood Blvd at 6am. True story.
But back to the post...is this really the best the McCain camp can up with..Jon Voight? Well, Sarah's visit Saturday showed us all one thing. The McCain camp knows no one is buying their crap, so time to smear Obama as a terrorist sympathizer or hater of America. At least Obama doesn't sleep with someone who wants to secede from the US.
What is wrong with him? Can they fix it?
How the mighty have fallen! A Home Depot parking lot is an appropriate setting for Jon Voigt's tired act.
