Lisa Desai is a multimedia journalist whose work has appeared on BBC World News America, CNN International, CNNMoney.com, MSNBC.com, Marketplace radio, TIME.com, Agence France-Presse and The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.

She has covered an environmental lawsuit in Ecuador’s Amazon rainforest, the education crisis among Iraqi refugees in Syria, and the death of Slobodan Milosevic in Serbia. In 2007, Lisa and two colleagues won an Archipelago Film Festival Award for their documentary about the Rockefeller drug laws. Lisa lives in New York City, where she reports, shoots, edits and produces breaking news, and features. She is currently producing a documentary about the rise of HIV among African-American women in the south.
