Lisa Schultz is the founder of TheWhole9.com (an international creative community), and The Peace Project which was founded to show that great change can happen very quickly if people work together. Towards that goal, The Peace Project creates coalitions of activists, artists, and volunteers to take action and manifest change starting in Sierra Leone, an African country that has recently suffered what has been called the cruelest war in Africa’s recent history.

In 2010, The Peace Project powered by TheWhole9.com provided 10,000 pairs of crutches to amputees, war victims, polio survivors, women and children across the entire country of Sierra Leone, home to 20% of the world’s amputees. Thousands of lives were changed on this day and belief systems around the world shifted as people realized that if we work together, great change can happen very quickly. Lisa’s current and future plans for TheWhole9.com and The Peace Project are even more ambitious (including the worldwide Make Peace Campaign) and will be unveiled through this blog.

When looking towards the future, Lisa envisions a world where local citizens transform into members of a global community that joins hands to create a better, more peaceful world. Connect with Lisa via email, lisa@thepeaceproject.com, or join her online at TheWhole9.com and ThePeaceProject.com.

Usually my daughter's face is the last thing I see before I sleep... and the first thing I see when I wake. Inevitably I'll smooth her curly hair, brush my hand across her face, marveling at the incredible eyelashes that conceal the eyes that dance with laughter and mischief when...

It's 2 a.m. -- a time I've known well since we launched The Peace Project back in July 2010. Since then, as I've tried to juggle the demands of running TheWhole9.com (an online creative community) and an art gallery, ramp up this social...
