Starting Anew

With the holidays going by in the rear view mirror, and New Years nipping at its heels, 2013 is going to be here before you know it. You're going to want to make sure you're well prepared for the incredible TV show lineups that are coming your way in the new year. Some of your favorite shows will be amping up the funny and drama, and some brand new shows will be chilling you to the bone by keeping you on the edge of your seat! 2013 marks the return of fan favorite shows Cougar Town and Community, while also introducing you to a show that will truly thrill you, The CW's new show Cult. These three shows should be at the top of your 'must watch' list in the new year and you're going to not want to miss an epic moment of them.

The cul de sac crew who have a lust for life and the fruit of the vine are returning to a TV set near you come Jan. 8! It's your same stellar crew, but a different network channel, and that's a good thing! Cougar Town has prowled over to TBS and it couldn't have landed on a better, or more perfect, network. These friends who like to "tip it" are coming back much to the delight of show fans and avid Penny Can players. The cult following that Cougar Town possesses were on pins and needles waiting for its renewal only to find it hadn't been picked up by ABC. TBS swooped in and now one of the quirkiest and smartest comedies on television has a fantastic new home. When the show returns we pick back up with Jules (the ever dynamic Courteney Cox) and Grayson (played by the scintillating Josh Hopkins) trying to navigate their newly married life together. Meanwhile, Bobby (Brian Van Holt) is trying to instill some words of manly wisdom to Travis (Dan Byrd) after he turns 21. It's time for the group to navigate life with new perspectives, while fans can tip their hat to TBS for bringing the show back, and tip their wine glass as they watch!

Community has also had an avid obsessive following since day one. Fans of Greendale College latched on to this quirky misfit study group and have held on tightly. Unique, and at times off color, Community is chalk full of laughs and indulgences that pack a powerful punch! Jeff (played by the brilliantly hilarious Joel McHale), Brita (snarky Gillian Jacobs), Abed (the quirky Danny Pudi), Troy (charismatic Donald Glover), Annie (sweet Alison Brie) and Pierce (devilish Chevy Chase) have fought zombies, time traveled, become video game characters, and battled their nemesis -- the truly evil Chang (Ken Jeong). It seems like there isn't anything this rag tag bunch can't handle! Viewers have been itching for a fix and finally the delay will be over in February. Chock full of pop culture references and some of the most quotable lines on television today, 2013 is going to continue to be full on epic for the students of Greendale and for Community fans. Though the show has been marred by many the controversy, nothing will deter fans from tuning in and seeing what this bunch have in store for another school year.

Park yourself in front of the couch with pen and paper because you're about to be taken on an interactive roller coaster ride of thrills, chills, clues, and twists! The CW's new show Cult will be taking the television world by storm on Feb. 19 and it will change the way you watch TV. Jeff Sefton (the smoldering, poignant and hypnotic Matt Davis) is an investigative journalist who's brother Nate (James Pizzinato) has quite the obsessive tendencies. When Nate begins ranting that his new favorite television program is more than just a show and it intends to harm him, Nate disappears and Jeff begins to take Nate's flights of fancy and paranoia seriously. It is in Jeff's investigation that he uncovers a world within an underworld through the television program Cult whose rabid fans are entranced by the show's charming leader Billy Grimm, played by the incomparable Robert Knepper, who has perfected creepiness to an art form. With the show's eerie plot twists beginning to play out in real life, Sefton enlists show assistant Skye (Jessica Lucas) in order to save Nate and try and unravel the mystery behind the show that fans really would kill in order to find out what happens next. An intense storyline coupled with phenomenal acting talents from the core cast which also includes the brilliantly talented Alona Tal (Supernatural, Veronica Mars), this show is going to keep you on the edge of your seat and your nails bitten to nubs.

Get ready for a 2013 that is going to be an unparalleled television season! Both January and February are packing a heavy punch that will knock your socks off and keep you highly entertained. Keep your food and wine pantry well stocked because you're going to want to invite plenty of friends and neighbors over for weekly TV watching parties when you tune in to Cougar Town, Community, and Cult. Hair-raising comedy and drama will be top priority when 2013 makes its entrance, so be sure you're well prepared and sitting front and center.
