Livia Giuggioli first began her career in film working as a production coordinator and assistant to Italian producer Fernando Ghia on the film “The Mission” in 1986.

Educated at the Universita La Sapienza in Rome, Livia graduated with a degree in “Humanities.” In 2000, Livia earned her doctorate degree by producing a documentary entitled “Giupseppe Tornatore: A Dream Dreamt in Sicily,” which was directed by Marc Evans.

In 2006, Livia and her husband, actor Colin Firth, founded Nana Productions. Their first project, “In Prison My Whole Life,” directed by Marc Evans, (“Showcake,” “Trauma”) the film portrays a young man’s investigation of the mysterious circumstances surrounding the arrest of Mumia Abu Jamal, famed death-row prisoner and award-winning Black Panther journalist.

Currently, Nana Productions has a film entitled “Lies of Silence” in pre-production. The film will be directed by Pat O’Connor.

Livia is an active member of several non-profit organizations and regularly collaborates with The Refugee Council in London, Oxfam America and Amnesty International.

Livia currently resides in London with her husband and children.
