So I am looking for some freelance work, writing or producing to make some cash so I can keep funding Wake Up World, my Off-Broadway theater show.
I decide to peruse the listings over at Mediabistro and happened upon this actual job listing.
I post it without comment.

Ha ! Faux News needs a "fact writer" to make sure they don't MISS twisting and spinning any "facts."
To paraphrase the the British Victorian era Prime Minster, Benjamin Disraeli " There are lies, damned lies, and then Fox News"
This job listing should be filed under the "Liars Can Figure and Figures Can Lie" category.
Lizz you cannot use these two words in the same sentence 'Fox" and "fact".
Where is ED Hill to protect us from facts.....like this commentary......someone call Snarky Truth Teller.....Laura Ingraham....stop this.....stop these facts.......
I thought they just poached from the National Enquirer...
A truthyness writer.
Shouldn't the position be called "True Fact Creator"?
Y'know, this is really a great opportunity for someone. Let's say some bright kid, straight outta college... Someone who might have a friend or two in the College Rethuglicans who'd be willing to vouch for their longstanding membership and other ideological credentials (just so's to help them get the badly-needed job, of course -- they needn't know the real agenda).
Someone clever enough to save all the memos & e-mails, and to write a few that would then get some revealing replies.
Someone who could then, in a year or two, go public with all of it -- and help further prove to the world what Fox really is. (Not that anyone isn't fully aware of it already, of course. But don't forget the big splash McCLennan's made by putting in writing what everyone already "knew" about the Iraq-war deceit campaign; the impact Greenspan had when he put in writing what everyone already "knew" about why we were in Iraq in the first place; etcetc)
The resulting book would almost certainly be a best-seller, and the author would be instantly both rich (or at least very well off), and jumped a couple orders of magnitude in employability.
If I were 15 years younger, I'd apply myself.
Anyone out there listening?
Isn't it interesting that the position title is "Fact WRITER" -- as opposed to, say, "Fact Researcher," "Fact Investigator," "Fact Analyst," "Fact Reporter," "Fact Collator," etcetc.
It's almost as if Fox News think "facts" are something to be made up, instead of something to be discovered.
Oh, wait....
Indeed. And I can't believe how many people aren't getting that joke. They're so blindsided by the notion of Fox and Facts in the same sentence, that they seem to be missing the fascinating word choice.
I had no idea facts could just be written - created out of thin air. Let's try it...
Keith Olberman is the love child of Barbara Walter and Ted Kennedy.
Whoa, that was easy. How long before that ends up scrolling along the screen at Fox... Maybe I should apply...
Ah! So, that's what wrong over at FOX. This position must have been vacant for a looooooong time.
Particularly since they actually require a bachelor's degree.
So it goes. It's especially good to have a degree from Regent "University" or Liberty "College" if you want a job at Fox "news"...
It's called FOX News (as in "sly as a"), not FACTS News.
The ad should of read, "Fairy tale writer wanted."
Seems like the perfect job for a Comedy writer. Just take the Republican talking points for the day and punch them up so they are funny. Oh yea Republicans do not have a sense of humor.
Although I don't watch Fox (or any news channel for that matter), isn't this constant Fox bashing just getting old by now? Get over it already. It's kind of lame and not funny anymore...
Unfortunately, too many people do watch FOX (FAUX) news and therein lies the problem. None of what FAUX does is funny and much of it is damaging because they are suppose to be informing their audiences to assist them to be in a more knowledgeable position to make intelligent decisions. News should be truthful and factual. It would be easier to "Get over it already," if FAUX would bill themselves as entertainment or infotainment, because news - they are not.
And your position that Fox News has a higher rate of news reporting errors is based on...?
(P.S. I suspect what you don't like about Fox is the focus of their reporting.)
Could I see the facts that you apparently have that FOX is not factual and truthful compared to CNN/MSNBC/ABC/CBS so I can compare myself? Just post the links here. Thanks!
Why do you care if you dont watch news channels? Since you do not watch Fox how would you have an objective opinion? When Fox starts acting in a responsible manner we will let up on them.
You almost have it right. What FOX has done to the profession of journalism is not funny.
That's why it's important to keep bashing.
If you did watch it, you would understand... tune in for a Hannity and Colmes or O'Reilly factor, or, well, anything else on fox... it's quite shocking... and to think that people watch and agree...
Ummm.. those guys aren't reporting the news. They are opinion shows, just like Keith Olbermann or Chris Matthews.
The "Let's Get FAUX News!" bandwagon is really lame. Sorry, but it is...
You would see how funny it is if you DID watch Fox. That's why you don't get it.
