Loren Mooney is the Editor in Chief of Bicycling magazine. Since joining the company in 2004, Loren has played an instrumental role in the evolution of the brand, overseeing the development of Bicycling's women's and triathlon packages, as well as a comprehensive redesign of the front-of-the-book section.

Prior to joining Rodale, Mooney held various senior editorial positions at Reader's Digest and Outdoor Explorer, and has worked as a reporter for Sports Illustrated and Time.

Over the course of her career, Loren has attended and covered 5 Tour De France races as well as the 1996 Olympic Games. In 2006, she followed Floyd Landis and later co-authored his memoir. In 2008, she rode in L’Etape du Tour, an annual event in France in which amateur competitors ride a crown jewel stage of the Tour de France.

A frequent cycling-related source for The New York Times, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, and NPR, Loren is extremely well versed in the sport and regularly pushes herself to new limits on the bike.

A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Mooney holds a BA in English and History from Cornell University, where she was team captain and three-time All-American runner in cross country and track. She currently lives in New York City.
