Madeline (Maddie) Lear, is twelve years old, and lives in Los Angeles, CA. She loves to write, play electric-bass or piano, sing, English class, and Math. She has blogged for the Huffington Post before, is quoted in Danica McKellar's new book about girls and math, and currently has a permanent slot as a blogger on GirlHeadQuarters.org She is very interested in politics, loves going to concerts, and looks up to the following: John Lennon, the character of Penny Lane from 'Almost Famous' --(there is a difference between groupie and band-aid!) Her favorite books are: 'The Giver' by Lois Lowry, 'His Dark Materials Trilogy' by Philip Pullman, and she loves all things Shakespeare.
