Last week, in an embarrassing PR failure, Kentucky Fried Chicken proved it couldn't handle the mega influence of one of the most powerful women in the world, and the free chicken coupon giveaway left the Colonel incapable of delivering the goods--or the buckets, that is.
But the question is, why is Oprah promoting a fast food giant? We can pretty much go on forever as to why this is a major-slip up. First of all, fast food is proven to be seriously detrimental to your health. How Stuff Works recently did a feature on the 10 most popular fast food ingredients, and it ain't pretty. Want some obesity-inducing High-fructose Corn Syrup with those fries? Well you better, since it's in just about everything.
Fast Food is also more polluting than trucks on the road, a major culprit when it comes to packaging waste and deforestation, and the source of most litter in England. Not to mention Oprah spent a whole episode condeming factory farms, now shown as a source for Swine-Flu.
So KFC can't handle Oprah: Well good. We are all healthier for it.
