Why is Oprah Promoting Kentucky Fried Chicken?

Last week, in an embarrassing PR failure, Kentucky Fried Chicken proved it couldn't handle the mega influence of one of the most powerful women in the world, and the free chicken coupon giveaway left the Colonel incapable of delivering the goods--or the buckets, that is.

But the question is, why is Oprah promoting a fast food giant? We can pretty much go on forever as to why this is a major-slip up. First of all, fast food is proven to be seriously detrimental to your health. kentucky fried chicken photoHow Stuff Works recently did a feature on the 10 most popular fast food ingredients, and it ain't pretty. Want some obesity-inducing High-fructose Corn Syrup with those fries? Well you better, since it's in just about everything.

Fast Food is also more polluting than trucks on the road, a major culprit when it comes to packaging waste and deforestation, and the source of most litter in England. Not to mention Oprah spent a whole episode condeming factory farms, now shown as a source for Swine-Flu.

So KFC can't handle Oprah: Well good. We are all healthier for it.

Maybe she's getting paid to do it. Just a wild guess.

Here we have a woman who is spending her OWN money in giving others a free meal -- and there is those who is harping on this because she did not do what THEY thought best. Personally I don't eat very often at KFC, but as my dad told me; if someone wants to give you something free, than its polite to accept and say thanks.
