Malaika Bobino
Malaika Bobino was born and raised in Oakland, Calif. She attended Howard University in Washington, D.C. where she majored in Psychology and minored in Human Development. After Howard University, Malaika utilized her business expertise at Hambrecht and Quist Investment Banking Firm where she worked as a business analyst for the next eight years, establishing knowledge of the stock market. While working and traveling in business, she always made time for sports. Her dream to be become the first woman appointed as a owner of a team is still on her vision board.

Fully aware of the obstacles to achieve such a position, she volunteered her time and has sat with scouts from a variety of NBA teams during the Long Beach Summer League to get a solid understanding of management. Years later Bobino began her career as a reporter/sports editor. Malaika continues to build contacts and knowledge of the game while making strides towards fulfilling her ultimate goals in sports.

Over the last eight years Bobino has covered the NBA, NFL, MLB and USA Basketball for the Post News Group in Oakland, CA. In 2010 she covered the the Super Bowl/Pro Bowl, NBA All-Star, traveled with USA Basketball overseas for the FIBA games and the San Francisco Giants through their journey in winning the World Series. Malaika also got national coverage when she asked both Commissioners David Stern and Roger Goodell questions during their live press conferences.

Born the youngest of five children who were very active in sports, Malaika discovered her passion for the game early. At the age of 5, she was exposed to variations of Pop-Warner Football, Little League Baseball, and Basketball Camps, which her three brothers all participated in at an early age. She now expresses her thoughts through writing and blogging. Always looking for new exciting opportunities in sports, Bobino hopes to move in front of the camera as a sideline reporter. Through an extensive business background and experience now evolves a businesswoman with gathered wisdom, excellent creative judgment, confidence and shining talent.
