A native of New Jersey, Marc Ecko was born Marc Milecofsky in 1972 with his twin sister, Marci. In the mid-80s, while still in high school, Marc’s artistic journey began in a makeshift design studio housed within his parents’ garage. As a dedicated member of the then
emerging hip-hop scene, Marc garnered interest from the generation’s new cultural icons like Spike Lee and Chuck D, who wore his custom T-shirts with pride. These auspicious events and invaluable relationships precipitated his founding of *Ecko Unltd. in 1993 at the age of 20.

Marc’s undeniable design talent and ties to the hip-hop community, coupled with his strong work ethic and innate marketing acumen, enabled him to rapidly grow his business into a successful global empire. Over the years, his portfolio has expanded to include an array of progressive men’s and women’s lifestyle brands including: *Ecko Unltd., Marc Ecko Cut & Sew, Zoo York, and Complex magazine and Media Network.

Through it all, Marc has remained steadfastly focused on being the most relevant designer and pop-culture navigator of the new millennium.
