Pendant lights are no longer just for the kitchen. Hanging pendant lights are popping up all over the home from bedroom designs to living rooms. When I visited my friends, Karen and Guy Vidal of Design Vidal, I fell in love with their bright orange pendants that they were using for bedside lighting. The pendant lights added a playful element to their bedroom design and helped them save space next to the bed.

Pendant lights look great in the bedroom, but where else could you use them? How about a single pendant in a small powder bathroom. I have definitely seen the trend of small pendants in bathrooms catching on. Another lighting trend is hanging several small pendant lights over a dining room table to create a dramatic look. Or... how about giving your entryway some style with a few hanging lights.

There are many different types of pendant lights. The lights that I am referring to are called mini-pendants. Depending on the look you are trying to achieve, the lights are offered in many different styles and materials such as glass, iron, chrome, etc. For a more decorative look, a giclee pendant light comes in a variety of patterns.

Where are you using pendant lights in your home?
