As a dad, the subject of his writing now includes everything from not sleeping due to a teething infant to the truth about getting a vasectomy. No topic is off-limits. He tells it like it is with a bit of humor to ease the pain.

"Wait, mom. Don't close the door yet. I haven't touched the light switch seven times and said 'off, off, off, off, off, off, off.'"

That was me at the age of 5 while my mom tucked me in at night. No joke... I had to say "off" seven times,...

Anyone else catch themselves s-p-e-l-l-i-n-g everything around your toddlers? Well, of course, I'm talking about things you don't want them to hear. My wife and I are certainly guilty of this. But now that our son is approaching 5, the charade is almost up.

You probably remember Flat Stanley. Well, I'm talking about Flat Michael... and this lil' guy isn't made of paper. I'll explain in a second.

As a dad, I feel that rewarding our children is super important. But there's a fine line between giving kudos and overindulging.

Now that my eldest son is 4, I wanted to try a new strategy when it came to rewarding him for good behavior... or for sitting still...

Vegas, Baby! (Well, Minus Our Babies)

It's been five years since my wife and I have been to Vegas. The last time was just a few months before our first son was conceived.

To say Vegas has changed in that relatively short amount of time is an understatement. Or, maybe it's just us. Actually, it...

Don't Act Like You Don't Hear The Baby Crying!

(1) Comments | Posted August 11, 2014 | 6:01 PM

Oh, those middle of the night arguments.

Yes, I'm talking 1:30 a.m. when our 10-month-old son starts crying for his bottle... and my wife and I both clearly hear him, but we're waiting to see who will turn over first to acknowledge this cry heard around the world.

Where Did The Good 'Ole Family Sitcom Go? Mr. Drummond, Mrs. Huxtable, I Miss You!

Is it just me, or is there a lack of quality programming for families to watch together?

Don't get me wrong, as a parent of two boys, I'm all for limiting the amount of TV our kids watch each day... one hour in the morning and one hour at...

Did I think I'd go from being a reporter for KTLA to blogging about my recent vasectomy? Um, no. But if I'm able to help guys out there be more comfortable with having this procedure, then it's worth it.

My wife and I have two boys, a 4-year-old and a...
