Maren Johnson is 17 years old and from South Dakota. She is the Student Ambassador for the Global Soap Project. She also is a member of the 2011 Parade All America High School Service Team and is South Dakota’s winner of Prudential’s Spirit of Community Award.
She is inspired to act by knowing that every bar of soap I collect and every volunteer I recruit will help save or extend a life somewhere in the world.
Not only has her organization significantly reduced waste going into our landfills, but she is also helping to turn "trash" into a valuable life-saving health product.
