Margarita Martín-Hidalgo is a freelancer in Dallas. Her journalism background includes reporting for the Dallas Morning News, Miami Herald, The Ledger and Reuters. Her stories have been mostly about cops, robbers and murders, but on occasion she's covered the aftermath of an earthquake in El Salvador and the Elian González raid. Most recently, she has had articles published in LatinaVoz.com, a Web magazine based in the Los Angeles area.

In her free time, Margarita ponders such things as why aren't more Hispanic girls on birth control, why many years after the Mexican-American war so many Texans still think all Hispanics are Mexican, and why Tony won't dump Jess already.

Margarita is a graduate of the University of Miami. A fan of tennis, she parked herself infront of the TV for almost six hours during the Wimbledon men's final until Rafael Nadal won. She's also a baseball fan and roots for the Rangers and the Mets.
