Marisa Tramontano coordinates The Foreign Policy Association’s Off-the-Record Lecture Series (www.off-the-record.org) and is a Master's candidate at the Center for Global Affairs at New York University, specializing in human rights in Africa. Tramontano is collaborating with Michael Soussan on a book, feature-length documentary film and website project on the advancement of women's rights in the developing world. Her research interests include advancement of women's rights through education and development, systematic violence against women and mass rape as a tool of war, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and non-governmental organization efficiency and communications. Her affiliations include: Women's Initiative at NYU CGA, The Carnegie New Leaders Program at the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs, The Women’s International Forum at the United Nations, United Women of All Nations, United Nations African Mother's Association, Young Professionals in Foreign Policy, and Women's Foreign Policy Group.
